Safe Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner

SAFE CARE® Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner

DESCRIPTION

SAFE CARE® Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner is intended for grease trap maintenance to solubilize fats, eliminate odors, and keep drain pipes clean of accumulated fats. SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner is a combination of our powerful SC-1000™ cleaning chemistry with biodigesters called bacillus septillus in spore form. When used for routine maintenance, SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner effectively removes food greases and paraffins without damaging equipment and pipes like hazardous caustics or solvents.

SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner complies with:

§ OSHA 29-CFR Ch. XVII 1910.1200 and 40 CFR Ch. 1, Subparts C & D
§ USEPA 600, 4-90, 027 for aquatic toxicity
§ USEPA 601 & 602 for VOC testing

INSTRUCTIONS

If a grease trap is already impacted by fatty effluent and organic matter, it may be necessary to completely clean the tank and waste lines back to the sanitary discharge unit. If calcites have built-up over time, it may be necessary to do an acid wash with SC-OmniBrite Acid before using SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner. Thereafter, use 1 gallon of SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner per 10-gallon capacity and let stand for 20 minutes by blocking off the drainpipe exit. Drain the tank and rinse thoroughly. For drain cleaning, block downstream drain and back fill floor drain system with a hose attached to the hot water supply until floor drains begin to back up at floor level. Add 8 ounces of SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner at each floor drain, sink drain and drain inlets; allow to dwell overnight; then drain. To maintain a "healthy" bio environment, pour 8 ounces of SC-Grease Trap & Drain Cleaner into each drain every day until the grease trap remains free of organic build-up then reduce to once every week for routine maintenance.

  1. The Grease traps Cincinnati Ohio contains “dirty water”, due consideration must be given when designing the air injection device. Simple pipes with holes drilled into the perimeter are not very effective and difficult to measure the resulting oxygen transfer rates with any reliability.
